Why Arsenal duo Denilson & Diaby must be shown the exit doors this summer

|

Arsenal midfield duo Abou Diaby and Denilson should be the first two players (on a very long list) to pack their bags and head straight for the Emirates exit doors when the summer transfer window opens.

As a diehard Arsenal fan, I am simply fed up of watching these two midfielders parade on the pitch like their great when clearly they’re the opposite.

In my opinion, both players lack desire and heart, and quite frankly, have overstayed their welcome at the North London side. To be honest, I’ve just had enough of them.

This is not just a sudden outburst due to Saturdays result against Manchester United in the F.A Cup at Old Trafford. Truth be told, I have been watching Arsenal intently this season (as I have been every year), and see Diaby and Denilson as major liabilities to the team.

I know some Arsenal fans will be reading this thinking I’m off my head and that I should be positive, but whilst these two ‘footballers’ are on the Arsenal payroll my doubts over the team lifting some silverware will remain intact.

As stated earlier, my opinion on these two are not purely based on their performances from Saturdays game, it’s based on the entire season and years gone by.

Here are my reasons to support my case over why Abou Diaby and Denilson need to be sold at the earliest opportunity:

Let me start with Abou Diaby. Although the 24-year-old appears to have some skill in those lanky legs of his, honestly, the Frenchman lacks movement (in terms of tracking back) and holds the ball for far too long in my opinion. I know he has suffered a lot of horrible injuries in the past (and even earlier on in the season) as an Arsenal player, but when I watch him play, I truly believe he doesn’t care about the club. I know that sounds bad to say, but that’s what I perceive from his body language and facial expressions whilst he’s on the pitch. The midfielder has been likened to the legendary Patrick Vieira by several journalists and Arsene Wenger himself in the past, but I fail to see the comparison. The only thing similar between him and Patrick is their nationality, that’s it.

I totally agree with the whole of this article, Denilson and Diably are crap and are not fit to wear the famous red and white of Arsenal. How those two players are at the club and playing football is beyond me. Wenger has to get rid of them and bring in fresh blood, these players are proving they are not Arsenal material and by selling them we could buy better midfielders or even strengthen other positions.

There statistics are terrorable, I hope they never play for Arsenal again, then again they’ll probably play against West Brom, if they do I bet we’ll either draw or lose to West Brom, I hope I am wrong though. Wenger, PLEASE do us all a favour get rid of them, they are useless and don’t offer anything to the team.

I agree about the duo but what about Rosicky,Clichy even Song they’re all useless. I watched him play for his country during Orange ANC, and I couldn’t believe what my eyes were seeing on the pitch. Wenger stop buying playmakers all the time as they become confused when you have to field all of them, that’s what I’ve noticed. Nasri,Arshavin,Rosicky,Cesc to me they all playmakers.

buy a player according to what you need in the team for what position. Michel Bastos for me should be the subject of Summer signing. Arsene give me a call I can identify players for Arsenal.

    Luv all Gooners

We’ll smile one day coz we always keep the faith.

I would agree with you on Clichy and Rosicky, but I think Song is a player that does his job well, so I wouldn’t get rid of him. Although I do think a lot of players need to clear off, Nicklas Bendtner and Manuel Almunia for example. Wenger definitely needs to stop buying playmakers and focus on the areas that need reinforcments.

In regards to Bastos being purchased this summer, personally, I think it would be a great signing for the club, especially with Arshavin nearing the 30 mark.

We’ll just have to wait and see what Wenger does when the time draws closer. Thanks for your comment.

Totally agree with your view on these two players. They have had enough time at Arsenal and have not progressed in the manner they should have. I also think Manuel Almunia, Nicklas Bendtner and Tomas Rosicky must go as well. Good article

Urgh, where to begin? Denilson I just don’t think is cut out for English football, I think he would be great in La Liga, where nobody bothers with defending.
Unfortunately that horrific injury Diaby suffered early on in his career has affected him, with him spending an exorbitant amount of time either sidelined or just pulling out of tackles. He is certainly skillful on his day, but once again I just don’t think he fits English football, maybe La Liga or Ligue 1.
