FIVE things we learnt about Arsenal last night…what are they?

|

Sebastien Squillaci bagged the only goal at the Emirates last night as Arsenal narrowly overcame Stoke City in what can only be described as a hard fought victory for the North London side.

Following their disappointing 1-1 draw against League One minnows Leyton Orient in the F.A Cup last Sunday, Arsene Wenger was adamant that a win against Stoke last night was vital for his side’s chances of being crowned Premier League champions at the end of the season. Even though Arsenal didn’t mirror the performance they produced against Barcelona in the Champions League, last night, Wenger’s men showed that they are capable of mixing it up with the uglier teams of the league and grind out a result.

The game produced very little chances on goal, but at the end of the day it’s a results business and Arsenal managed to bag a positive one. However, injuries to both Cesc Fabregas and Theo Walcott will undoubtedly have Wenger and the Arsenal faithful a little worried, especially with the Carling Cup final scheduled this Sunday, and a visit to the Camp Nou just 12 days away. The Gunners are now just one point off Manchester United in the Premier League table after their 1-0 win over the Potters.

So what FIVE things did we learn about Arsenal last night?
