Arsene Wenger has labelled the reports linking Hector Bellerin and first-team coach Boro Primorac with moves away from Arsenal this summer as ‘fake news’.

It was reported earlier this week that both the right-back and first-team coach were set to leave Arsenal this summer, with Barcelona readying a £35million bid for Bellerin, while Primorac was linked with a managerial job at Turkish club Konyaspor.

However, during his pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to West Brom this Saturday, Wenger dismissed both rumours, claiming it was ‘fake news’:

“That is a complete invention, It’s not serious. Fake news.”

Bellerin continues to be linked with a move back to Barcelona this summer as the Catalan club look to fill the void left by Dani Alves last summer.

But Wenger went on to say that the 21-year-old only signed a new deal to remain at Arsenal:

“No. He just extended contract with unbelievable number of years to go.

“It’s very difficult to take these things seriously.”

Wenger’s own future is still up in the air with his contract set to expire this summer, but the Frenchman continues to keep his cards close to his chest.
