National team selection could play a role in Arsenal ace’s transfer

|

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin chances of becoming Spain’s first choice right back would increase if he moves to Barcelona in the summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The same newspaper reported yesterday that the 21 year old would be more open to a move back to Catalonia if Arsene Wenger leaves the Gunners at the end of the season, but they say that his place in the international setup under manager Julen Lopetegui is also a consideration.

Journalist Francesc Aguilar also reports that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is keeping an eye on Bellerin’s situation as he looks to strengthen both sides of his defence in the summer.

Considering the full back only signed a six and a half year contract back in November, it is unlikely that the Spaniard is even contemplating a move to another Premier League side. The connection to Barcelona looks more concrete though due to him spending eight years there as a youth player before joining Arsenal.
