Former Arsenal player Paul Merson says that he feels Arsene Wenger’s time as Gunners’ manager looks to have come to an end.

Speaking to ESPN FC, the Sky Sports pundit said he watched Wenger on the touchline in the 5-1 defeat to Bayern Munich on Wednesday night and he felt the Arsenal boss simply looked lost:

“It’s the same old, same old. It’s a shame but I do think it will be time [for him to leave at the end of the season]. And I think he will.”

“I think he looked it last night, he looked like someone who was a bit lost if I’m honest. You don’t want to see that. The man’s a nice man and last night it looked like it took its toll.”

At his press conference today Wenger confirmed that he will be managing a club next season, although at this point in time he does not know where that will be.

The BBC reported yesterday that Wenger does have a contract offer on the table from the Gunners, but the Frenchman will delay any decision on his future until the end of the season when he has time to reflect on things. Whether that will come to pass or if he feels he needs to make an announcement earlier, we will have to wait and see.
