Arsenal target could be available for £26m in the summer

Real Madrid are stalling are stalling in contract talks with reported Arsenal target Isco, Spanish newspaper Marca is reporting.

The Madrid based publication say Real are reluctant to hand out another large contract after giving substantial new deals to Toni Kroos and Gareth Bale already this season.

President Florentino Perez and the club’s board are believed to have told Isco that they will revisit contract talks at the end of the season when the 24 year old will only have 12 months remaining on his current deal.

The playmaker has been used regularly by Zinedine Zidane this season. He has played 22 times, scoring four goals and providing four assists, but Madrid are looking to see where he fits into Zidane’s plans by the end of the game, rather than offering the player a new deal now when his place in the side is still uncertain.

If he doesn’t sign a new deal, Real would look to recoup as much of the €30million (£26m) they paid Malaga for the player back in 2013.
