Carl Jenkinson has yet to leave the Gunners because no club has agreed to his wage demands, according to manager Arsene Wenger.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference yesterday, the Arsenal boss revealed the 24 year old has not been able to agree personal terms:

“As I said in the last press conference, only he has to agree personal terms. But at the moment, he has not managed to do that.”

It has been widely reported that Crystal Palace were the closest club to signing Jenkinson with Wenger describing a reporter’s comments that a move to the Eagles was likely as “well-informed.”

With only days left in the transfer window, it is not looking like any club will snap up Jenkinson unless a compromise can be made on his wages before Tuesday.

Wenger also revealed he is prepared to allow another right back Mathieu Debuchy to leave as he feels centre back Gabriel can provide sufficient cover for Hector Bellerin in the position when called upon if the Spaniard is absent through injury or suspension.
