Francis Coquelin looks set for a spell on the sidelines after being substituted in the first-half of the 3-3 draw against Bournemouth last night.

The Frenchman felt a tight hamstring and was taken off and replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on 28 minutes.

Arsene Wenger told Arsenal.com after the match that they will know in the next 48 hours about the extent of the injury after the 25-year-old has had a scan:

‘Coquelin has a hamstring. It’s too early, you have to wait 48 hours for a scan to see. Usually when he sits down and comes up it’s not so good news. It’s just a tightness. The player tries to get on but he didn’t even try to play again.’

Wenger also revealed that Laurent Koscielny came off to be replaced by Gabriel due to cramping in both legs, while he was also reluctant to start Hector Bellerin who played despite a knock and proceeded to struggle against the Cherries.

Playing 48 hours after the Crystal Palace match meant that injuries were always a risk, especially muscle strains due to fatigue, and Gunners fans will be hoping that Koscielny and Bellerin will be able available for a tricky away tie against Preston North End in the FA Cup on Saturday.
