Everton and Manchester City are both monitoring Jack Wilshere’s situation at Arsenal, according to journalist Tom Hopkinson of the Sunday People.

The 25-year-old has 18 months left on his current deal and Arsene Wenger has said that the England international will be offered an extension to his contract to remain at the club.

Whether Wilshere will consider a move away from the Emirates for more first team action is the key question though. He has become a regular at Bournemouth under Eddie Howe and may be seeking assurances from the Gunners he will be given more game time if he signs on the dotted line.

For that reason, the Sunday People reports, both Everton boss Ronald Koeman and Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola are keeping tabs on Wilshere. Fitness problems have curtailed the player’s development in recent seasons but it is believed both managers are seeking to bring in a creative central midfield player in the summer, and see the midfielder as a good fit for their style of play.
