Arsenal are in a four-way battle for the signature of Wolfsburg full-back Ricardo Rodriguez with Marseille the latest club joining the race.
The 24-year-old is reportedly ready to leave the Bundesliga club and has attracted several clubs around Europe. Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with the Switzerland international, but French website L’Equipe (via talkSPORT) now claim Marseille are interested in making a move for the defender.
Marseille have the cash to splash after being backed by billionaire owner Frank McCourt and has emerged as a target.
Wolfsburg are reluctant to sell Rodriguez, but could be tempted to let the player leave should a fee of around £25 million be tabled.
Arsenal could perhaps do with a new left-back coming in at the end of the season, with Nacho Monreal showing signs of slowing down, while Kieran Gibbs’ contract, which expires in summer 2018, yet to be extended.
