Arsenal are set to lose out on the services of Roma centre-back Kostas Manolas with Inter close to agreeing a summer deal, according to reports in Greece.

The Greece international’s agent confirmed last week that Roma rejected a £34.6 million offer from Arsenal last summer and also stated that the 25-year-old could be on the move at the end of the season.

Manolas has also been linked with a move to Manchester United but, according to Greek source SDNA (via Calciomercatoweb), it appears Inter Milan have agreed a fee with Roma for the defender. It’s suggested that Roma have already accepted a bid of £36.3 million from the Milanese club to go through this summer with personal terms to yet to be finalised.

Manolas has been a consistent performer for Roma since joining the Serie A club form Olympiacos in 2014 and has made 22 appearances so far this season for Luciano Spalletti’s side.

Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker only recently signed new deals at Arsenal, and with Shkodran Mustafi also settling in well following his arrival from Valencia last summer, perhaps a defensive signing isn’t on Arsene Wenger’s agenda. If, however, the Frenchman is keen on signing Manolas this summer then he better move hastily before he loses out.
