The agent of PSG midfielder Marco Veratti has dampened speculation that the Italian international will leave the French club this summer after declaring that the player wants to “respect” the contract he has with his current team.

The 24-year-old has reportedly been the subject of interest from Bayern Munich in recent days, while Arsenal and Chelsea and other top European clubs have been linked with a move for the midfielder in the past few months.

Verratti’s agent Donato Di Campli, however, told Sky Italia (translated by calciomercato.com) that he is not heard anything from Bayern and that his client is happy to remain in Paris and win titles:

‘Bayern never called me. And if they had, I’d have referred them to PSG. It’ll be difficult for a club to take him away from PSG. He has a deal until 2021, he wants to respect it. Marco wants to win, if possible in Paris.’

Verratti’s age and ability on the ball make him one of Europe’s most sought after prospects. He does however struggle to score goals with just five in 181 games for PSG; a record that could perhaps be better considering his role in central midfield. It looks likely however that the Italian won’t be moving from the Parc des Princes any time soon.
