Ajax boss Peter Bosz has admitted Dutch starlet Riechedly Bazoer is set to leave the Eredivisie side in January, putting several Premier League clubs on red alert.
Last month, we reported that the 20-year-old’s agent was in talks with three clubs, one being AC Milan and another believed to be Arsenal.
The midfielder has dropped down the pecking order this season, making just three starts, and has also been left out of the Ajax squad for tomorrow night’s Europa League match against Standard Liege.
Bosz now expects the youngster to move on when the January transfer window opens:
‘After talks with Riechedly I assume there is a big chance that he is not with this team anymore after the winter break.
‘Against Standard I want to play young players so they can get used to this international level.’
Bazoer has made over 50 Eredivisie appearances for the Amsterdam club since making the breakthrough into the senior squad back in 2104, and despite making it clear that he had no intention of leaving Ajax back in January, it seems his situation has rapidly changed for the worse.
Liverpool and Barcelona were previously credited with interest in the Holland international, but it’s now thought Chelsea and Manchester City are also monitoring his situation.
If Arsenal were one of the three sides who held talks with his agent last month then there is a strong possibility that we could see him arrive at the Emirates next month.
