Don Balon are reporting that Arsenal’s chances of signing Real Madrid youngster Marcos Llorente are slim.

The Spanish publication say that Arsene Wenger had targeted the young midfielder as part of the legacy he will leave for the next Arsenal manager if he departs the Emirates at the end of the season.

It is believed Llorente wants to follow in the footsteps of his father, his grandfather and great uncle who have all played for Madrid.

The 21-year-old is currently out on loan at La Liga side Alaves, but his intention is to impress Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane out on loan and then return to become part of the first team squad next season at the Bernabeu.

Llorente is a holding midfield player and Don Balon say that he senses an opportunity with Brazilian midfielder Casemiro the only player currently who plays a similar role in the Champions League winners’ squad.
