Arsenal are among four clubs keen on Napoli left-back Faouzi Ghoulam, according to reports.
Le Beteur (via TribalFootball) claimed last week that Chelsea were pursuing a January deal for the left-back and are willing to pay £24 million for his signature.
However, CalcioMercato.com, (via TribalFootball) say Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are also in the mix for the 25-year-old.
The Algeria international’s agent, Alessandro Moggi, claims his client is the be player in his position currently operating in Italy and is worth around £34 million:
“I think Ghoulam is the best left-back in Italy. He is one of the best in Europe. He has proved his worth for over a year. If (Marcos) Alonso costs 27 million euros, then Ghoulam is worth around 40 million.”
Arsenal could be in the market for a left-back sooner rather than later, with Nacho Monreal having a below par season and expressing his desire to one day play for Athletic Bilbao, while Kieran Gibbs is not viewed by many of the Arsenal faithful as a regular.
Ghoulam has been linked with a move to Arsenal in the past, but nothing materialised.
The Algerian full-back has started 11 of Napoli’s 14 Serie A games, as well as being ever-present for the Italian side in the Champions League so far this season.
