Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly monitoring Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij.
According to talkSPORT, the Premier League duo are keeping tabs on the Dutchman’s situation at the Serie A club.
The 24-year-old, who has made four appearances for Lazio so far this season, still has over two-years left on his current deal but has yet to put pen to paper on an extension.
This will give renewed hope to both Arsenal and Chelsea in their reported pursuit of the centre-back, with the Blues already having a bid knocked back over the summer.
The Italian club now want to tie De Vrij down to a new deal which will reportedly include a hefty buy-out clause to scare off potential suitors.
Arsenal have previously been linked with De Vrij when he was a Feyenoord player and could be looking for a new centre-back with Per Mertesacker’s future at the Emirates in doubt.
