The 30-man Ballon D’or shortlist for this year has been announced and, naturally, it’s caused huge debate.

The usual suspects like holder Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are on the list with La Liga leading the charge for the amount of nominations with an incredible 13, almost half.

In second is the Premier League with the likes of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez nominated after Leicester City won the title last season whilst Dimitri Payet also makes the list amongst others for a stellar campaign with West Ham.
