Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin could be out of action for a number of months, with the knee injury he picked up against Chelsea believed to be serious, The Daily Mail claim.
The French midfielder started the clash with Chelsea on Saturday evening but was forced out of the action on 32 minutes and replaced by Grani Xhaka in the heart of the hosts’ side.
Coquelin has had some debilitating injuries in the past and the latest prognosis does not look good for the former Charlton Athletic loanee.
The Frenchman has added much-needed brawn and industry to the Arsenal side over the last 12 months, with the star becoming a critical member of Arsene Wenger’s team.
However, should Coquelin be out of action for a number of months, the North London side have the personnel to replace him.
Both Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny are ready to step into the breach if needed, plus Aaron Ramsey is also fighting his way back to fitness for the Emirates Stadium outfit.
