Arsenal have sent homegrown midfielder Jack Wilshere on loan to Premier League rivals Bournemouth for the 2016-17 season, as confirmed on the North London club’s official website.

The England international has fallen behind the likes of Granit Xhaka and Santi Cazorla in the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium and was facing the possibility of limited football in 2016-17.

A move to the Cherries will allow Wilshere to play on a weekly basis, which is something that he has not done in a number of years due to injury concerns.

The gifted playmaker has been left out of Sam Allardyce’s first England squad and told that he must get more club football under his belt if he is to get back into the national fold.

Wilshere is said to have had a host of options domestically and on the continent in deciding where to play his football this season but has ended up at the Vitality Stadium.
