Reported Arsenal target Miguel Almiron has stated that it “would be great” to play for the North London team but his club Lanus have clarified that there has been no approach for the midfielder.
However, Lanus have stated that as yet there has been no official approach from Arsenal to sign the gifted attacking midfielder.
“There was no official contact of any kind with Arsenal,” Hernan Arboleya told Paraguay outlet ABC Color.
“We intend [for Almiron] to stay with us until December. The important thing is that Almiron is playing.
“[We will] analyze if an offer comes. We know that Miguel Almiron will end up playing in Europe.”
Almiron impressed in his homeland with Cerro Porteno last year and looks to be on an upward trajectory towards European football.
The 22-year-old has confessed that he is interested in a move to Arsenal but until anything is made official he is keeping his feet on the ground.
“It would be great to play for Arsenal but I haven’t said anything yet – my agent is taking care [of me],” he told Goal Argentina.
“For now I just think of Lanus.”
Arsenal are close to signing Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez, with any further business from the Emirates Stadium club before the transfer window closes on Wednesday sure to come as a shock to the supporters.
