Arsenal attacker Theo Walcott has admitted that he is ready to play in any position that Arsene Wenger wants in an attempt to regain a place in the Gunners’ starting line-up.

The flying forward has maintained in recent years that he wants to play as a striker in the North London club’s 4-2-3-1 formation but has largely been used as a substitute in this regard.

However, with Arsenal said to be in the market for a new centre forward and having Olivier Giroud as their main option through the middle, Walcott is seemingly having a rethink.

The former Southampton prodigy missed out on England’s Euro 2016 squad due to a lack of playing time at Arsenal, with Walcott ready to operate on his more-natural wing role if asked.

“I have been here 10 years,” The Express quote the star as saying.

“There is always competition for places. It doesn’t matter what club you are at.

“I always believe that I can get back to where I want to be. I’m sure if I keep working hard then I will get there.

“I have told the manager that I want to be known for playing on the right again. I can play up front.

“I want to know where I want to play. The manager has said I can play up front. It depends on what game it is.”

Walcott has been tipped to leave Arsenal his summer in a search for more first team football but now looks dedicated to stay at the Emirates Stadium and fight for a place in the side.
