Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has not been included in the Wales squad that will face Moldova on September 5th, according to BBC Sport.

The 44-cap international pulled up with a hamstring injury during a 4-3 defeat to Liverpool on the Premier League’s opening weekend – lasting just 61 minutes into the new season.

Last week, Arsene Wenger revealed that the 25-year-old would be out of action for the Gunners until after the international break.

But it appears Ramsey’s hamstring injury has also ruled him out of the first fixture of Wales’ 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign – a meet with Moldova in Cardiff on September 5th.

Dragons manager Chris Coleman, who masterminded his country’s way to the Euro 2016 semi-finals this summer, has left the midfielder out of his latest squad.

As quoted by BBC Sport, he said; “When you’ve got a player as good as Aaron, take him out of any team and you are going to know about it.

“He is irreplaceable, he makes a huge impact for us. He is a great player and it’s a shame he’s not here. He’s a loss to any team.”

Coleman and Wenger have clashed over the issue of Ramsey’s fitness before. Back in November 2015, Le Prof appeared to blame the Wales gaffer for the former Cardiff City man picking up a hamstring injury.

As quoted by Sky Sports, he said; “Maybe he was overloaded a little bit with games. Ideally, I think not him nor [Gareth] Bale should have played against Andorra, because they were qualified, but unfortunately I could not decide that.

“Ideally he should have had a breather, or at Watford. Realistically, the real breather he could have had was against Andorra.”

The Wales squad for next month’s qualifier is as follows: Hennessey (Crystal Palace), Ward (Liverpool), O Fon Williams (Inverness); Gunter (Reading), Chester (Aston Villa), A Williams (Everton), Collins (West Ham), Davies (Tottenham), Richards (Cardiff), Taylor (Swansea), Dummett (Newcastle); Allen (Stoke), Ledley (Crystal Palace), Huws (Cardiff), King (Leicester), Edwards (Wolves), G Williams (Fulham), Cotterill (Birmingham); Bale (Real Madrid), Robson-Kanu (unattached), Vokes (Burnley), Church (MK Dons), Lawrence (Leicester)
