Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to allow Calum Chambers to go out on loan this season according to The Daily Mail, despite the North London club being light on options at centre-half.

The former Southampton defender has been tipped to have a bright future in the sport and has impressed in cameos for the Gunners over the last 24 months.

With Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista both on the sidelines through injury, Chambers started alongside new face Rob Holding in Arsenal’s Premier League opener against Liverpool.

However, when Laurent Koscielny returned for the clash with Leicester, it was Chambers rather than Holding that dropped out of the team.

Arsenal are expected to sign a new central defender before the transfer window closes, which would mean limited action for the 21-year-old.

A stint at another Premier League club, where he could play every week, would surely be an excellent option for Chambers’ development.
