Arsenal’s proposed move for French forward Wissam Ben Yedder could well be spoiled by interest from Tottenham, Canal+ report as translated by The Hertfordshire Mercury.

The Gunners are in the market for a new centre forward and had an offer for Lyon superstar Alexandre Lacazette turned down by the Ligue 1 outfit earlier this week.

Ben Yedder has been scoring consistently in the French top flight for boyhood club Toulouse over recent seasons and is being tipped with a move to a major European side this summer.

Reports in the French press had stated that a move to the Emirates Stadium was on the cards but Sevilla were also interested in the gifted attacker.

The latest developments however suggest that Spurs could enter the race for Ben Yedder, who is believed to be available for a cut-price £8 million.

Arsenal are reliant on Olivier Giroud currently but may well look to bolster Arsene Wenger’s offensive options before the new season begins.
