Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will not let David Ospina leave the North London club this summer and wants to keep the Colombian at the Emirates Stadium as a back-up to Petr Cech this season, ESPN report.

The South American custodian moved to the Premier League side after impressive performances for his country at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Ospina got the opportunity to play in the second half of the 2014-15 campaign, but has since been demoted to deputy since Cech’s arrival from London rivals Chelsea last summer.

The former Nice stopper has been linked with an exit from the North London outfit in search of more regular first-team football elsewhere, with Ospina eager to avoid another season of limited opportunities.

Despite this, the latest report suggests that Wenger values the Colombia international and wants to keep him at Arsenal for 2016-17, but Cech will remain first choice in the Gunners’ team.
