Arsenal have missed out on reported striker target Gonzalo Higuain, who has moved to Juventus for a whopping £75.3 million, BBC Sport report.

The Argentina international has been in irrepressible form over the last 12 months and scored 30 goals in Serie A last season to fire Napoli to a runners-up berth.

Higuain has been consistently linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium over recent years, but for one reason or another the South American has not ended up as a Gunner.

Juventus have lost Alvaro Morata this summer, who returned to Real Madrid, while Paul Pogba could be set for a world-record move to Manchester United if reports in the British and European press are to be believed.

The Turin giants have activated Higuain’s release clause, making him the third most expensive player of all time and delivering a striker that can guarantee goals – something Arsenal currently do not have.
