Arsene WengerArsene Wenger is set to reignite his interest in Argentinean wonderkid Maxi Romero this summer.

The Gunners agreed a £4.5 million deal to sign the 17-year-old striker from Velez Sarsfield last year.

However, the deal fell through after the teenager fuffered a long-term knee ligament injury before he due to put pen to paper.

But Wenger is ready to try again when the summer transfer window opens and attempt to push the deal past the finishing line this time around, providing of course Romero can prove his fitness.

Although Romero will not be Wenger’s, or indeed the fans’ first-choice striker to come in this summer, the Argentine will be viewed as one for the future for Arsenal, should the Gunners manage to snap him up.

Romero has made just ten appearances for Velez Sarsfield since being promoted to the first-team in 2015 and has netted three goals so far.
