WilshereJack Wilshere has made the headlines once again, without even kicking a ball.

The England international has yet to feature for the Gunners this season but is on the road to recovery from a broken leg he suffered pre-season – good news for Arsenal fans.

However, the 24-year-old has once again thrown his professionalism in the air by yet another off-field incident, which could test Arsene Wenger’s patience with the midfielder.

Wilshere was reportedly involved in an altercation between two groups of men outside a London nightclub, having been thrown out of the establishment in the early hours.

Although Wilshere hasn’t breached any club rules by being out, Wenger will more than likely be frustrated by his latest misdemeanour, especially as it isn’t the first time Jack has been caught out.

In the past, Wilshere reportedly received a police warning for a spitting incident involving a Tottenham-supporting taxi driver who refused to take him home because he was not in a fit state.

He has also been caught smoking on three different occasions. The first came in 2013 after he was spotted holding a cigarette outside a London joint, and just a year later, at a party in Las Vegas after England’s World Cup exit. He was pictured clutching a shisha pipe in a London bar.

Following these incidents, Wenger told the press that the injury-plagued midfielder needs to ‘master his life’, so his latest escapade will not go down well with his manager.

So with this all in mind, and the fact he hasn’t yet featured for Arsenal this season, should Wenger finally get shot of Wilshere, or give him another chance?

Wenger has shown an incredible amount of faith in Wilshere, despite his injuries and off-field antics, and has previously expressed his delight in the player’s ability.

However, Jack seems more interested in partying and getting the headlines for the wrong reasons rather than focusing on his development.

Many will agree that Wilshere has still not fulfilled his enormous potential and has wasted his opportunities to do so. At 24, Jack should be up there with the best that Europe has to offer, but, sadly, he isn’t, and possibly never will be.

Wenger has been very patient with Wilshere but even the Frenchman must be contemplating whether or not the midfielder really does have a long-term future at Arsenal.
