LacazetteArsenal have been given the green like to re-ignite their interest in Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette over the summer, according to reports in France.

The 24-year-old France international attracted huge interest from Arsenal and Liverpool last summer, and was also the subject of a reported £21.5 million bid from Newcastle during the January transfer window.

Lacazette has netted 45 goals in the last two seasons for Lyon and has opened the door to a move to the Premier League at the end of the current campaign.

Quoted in Le10Sport, the French striker said:

‘A departure? Yes, I think the Premier League is a very attractive for a player.

‘But I know that to go, I have to play well this season. So I’m very focused and perhaps after that, I will leave. I know it’s possible to go in the Premier League and Lyon is also aware.’

Despite having the likes of Theo Walcott, Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud at the Emirates, many of the Arsenal faithful, along with respected pundits in the game, believe the Gunners need to add to their attacking force, with many surprised Arsene Wenger didn’t do so in the last two transfer windows.

Lacazette is a proven goalscorer in Ligue 1, but could emulate his form and goal tally if he moved to the Premier League? This of course is something we have yet to find out.

Depending on the price Lyon would want for him, I reckon he would be a good signing for the Gunners, with Walcott and Giroud not up to par in front of goal this season.
