Arsene WengerArsenal have won the race to sign Chelsea youngster Domingos Quina, according to The Sun.

The Gunners are expected to finalise the deal with the 16-year-old before Wednesday after the attacking midfielder walked out on Chelsea.

It is understood that Quina failed to report back to Stamford Bridge after international duty with the Portugal Under-18 squad, which alerted a number of Premier League clubs.

United and Spurs were supposedly thought to be two clubs keeping tabs on Quina having sent scouts to watch to watch him in the knowledge that the teenager was unhappy with life at Chelsea.

However, it is Arsenal who have won the race for his signature, with the Gunners set to offer him a scholarship deal before his turns 17 in November.

Quina was reportedly unhappy with the lack of opportunity to develop into a first team player at Chelsea, with this being one of the main factors in his decision to leave the West London club.

Chelsea will now lose Quina on a free, having signed him as a 13-year-old in 2012.

Quina did not manage to make a first-team appearance for Chelsea, but is a key member of the Portugal Under-18 side having made eight appearances and netting seven goals to date.
