Arsene WengerArsene Wenger WILL be staying beyond summer 2017 as Arsenal manager after Pep Guardiola agreed to join Manchester City next season.

The former Barcelona manager previously announced that he will be departing his post at Bayern Munich at the end of the season, leaving everyone guessing what his next destination would be.

The bookies had Manchester City down as hot favourites for the Spaniard’s signature from the get-go, but the possibility of joining Arsenal over the summer was a real one, with Pep talking up London and the way the Gunners play their football.

However, after much speculation, it’s now been confirmed that Guardiola will be at the Etihad Stadium helm at the end of the season for the next three-years, with Manuel Pellegrini moving on to possibly manage home country Chile.

In turn, reports suggested Arsenal are preparing to offer Wenger a new long-term contract beyond summer 2017, and it looks highly likely to ensue after Pep decided to join City.

The news will no doubt upset several Arsenal fans, as they wanted to see Pep, or indeed a new manager to come in to take over the reins at the Emirates, with some claiming Wenger has done all he can for the club. Sorry to disappoint those reading this in that very bracket, but it seems we got what looks like another two-three years of the frugal Frenchman in charge at Arsenal.
