Who should be Arsenal’s only other signing this month?

arsene-wengerArsene Wenger previously stated last week that he expects to be ‘busy’ during this month’s transfer window.

His claim had many of the Arsenal faithful hoping for a number of signings coming in this January, preferably a midfielder due to the long layoffs to Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin, a striker to help out the likes of Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott while Danny Welbeck recovers from his injury, and possibly another defender to just give more depth in this department. Well Wenger is close to signing a defensive midfielder, this coming in the shape of Basel’s Mohamed Elneny, a deal worth to be in the region of £5-7.4 million, depending on what report you read.

But it appears Wenger has backtracked his previous statement of him being ‘busy’ this month by recently stating that the club will make a ‘maximum two’ signings.

Arsenal do currently sit at the top of the Premier League table, two points clear of second-place Leicester City, but many of the Arsenal faithful believe they will only remain there if reinforcements are brought in.

However, it seems instead of bringing in new faces to accommodate the Gunners’ current injury crisis, Wenger is willing to wait on those sidelined to return to make an impact, citing quality is more important than quantity.

As stated earlier in this piece, Elneny looks to be one of the two signings Wenger will make this month.

But who should Wenger’s next and only other signing be this January and why?

Give us your thought and the name of the player you would like to see come in this month before the window closes.

Aubameyang please. I’d also like to see Wanyama.

    Aubumeyang or no one else

Aubameyang is not moving now from Dortmund but could be the big Summer signing.
For now, a guy like Grzegorz Krychowiak would be awesome, or Carvalho/ Lars Bender, who would be very good additions too.

Arsenal don’t need much. Walcott and Giroud have been in good form, and with Welbeck coming back, a striker isn’t needed. It is foolish to bring in so many players that eight or nine first teamers have no chance of ever setting foot on the pitch. It poisons the dressing room and Arsene Wenger knows that.

The only other deal I would look for is John Stones. Go in big and fast, sign him with a loan back until the end of the season so Everton can use the cash to buy a replacement before they lose the player. Arsenal don’t need Stones this year, but next, he and Koscielny could be the best CB pair in Europe.

I like the news about Rabiot coming to Arsenal as he is a very smart and elegant player that will help ozil make arsenal attacks more vertical and accurate as well as aid our possession game. Isco could have been big but since it was a Zidane signing he will probably stay in Madrid on a first team basis. Leicester city’s Kante could also be a great signing for what we will be missing in Arsenal

after our poor performances against southampton and newcastle, 2 teams who both played 2 tough battling midfielders it showed how much we are missing coquelin. he is the style of player we need and after his performances in youth world cup last year carvallho looked excellent. he would fit in well in our team in the 1 position where we have no cover.
