Arsene WengerArsene Wenger doesn’t expect much more to happen at Arsenal in the final days of the January transfer window, nor a specific offer to be made.

21 days into the transfer window and the Gunners have only managed to sign midfielder Mohamed Elneny from Basel for a reported fee of £5 million.

And with 11 days left to go until the transfer market closes until the summer period, Wenger expects it to be a ‘quiet’ end to the window from an Arsenal point of view, despite the club being linked with a number of players in different positions:

‘You will certainly have some work to do in the next ten days, not especially with Arsenal but with other clubs.’

Despite expecting a quiet ending to the window for Arsenal, Wenger hasn’t ruled out the possibility of something happening:

‘We are always open to an exceptional opportunity we can take for the long-term. But I expect our last ten days to be quiet at the moment.’

Prior to Wenger’s latest comments today, the Frenchman did hint that there will only be a maximum of two players coming in this January, as well as suggesting there is currently no good opportunities in the market to take.

And with Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and now Francis Coquelin all back in training after recovering from their respective injuries, as well as Danny Welbeck also a couple of weeks away from a return, it is highly doubtful that we will see anyone else come in this winter.
