Joel CampbellInstead of seeing a striker come in this month, it looks like one could be heading to Turkey, as its been reported that Galatasaray representatives are in London to discuss a deal for Joel Campbell.

The 23-year-old Costa Rican forward has been at Arsenal since 2011 but has spent the majority of the time being loaned out.

This season, however, has seen Campbell feature more regularly for Arsene Wenger’s side, making 17 appearances in all competitions thus far, but only because of injuries to key players.

Wenger had the chance to offload him but decided to keep hold of him, but the Frenchman is now understood to be considering offers for the Costa Rica international this month, with Campbell’s contract believed to expire at the end of the current season.

Over the summer, Palermo expressed their interest, as well as Galatasaray, but were put off by his £7 million price-tag.

But Turkish broadcaster RadyoSpor, as reported by the Daily Express, now claim Galatasaray are set to go back in for Campbell by sending general secretary Fatih Isbecer to London to hold talks with the Gunners.

Unless Wenger has a replacement in mind, Campbell should not depart the Emirates this month. We will need all the players we have if we are to continue our push to the Premier League title.
