Do Arsenal have enough ammo to win the title?

Arsene WengerFormer Arsenal striker Alan Smith believes Arsene Wenger doesn’t need to add anymore players to his existing squad this January because the squad is capable of winning the Premier League.

Arsenal signed midfielder Mohamed Elneny last week from Basel for a reported fee of £5 million, and while others would love to see Wenger bring in a couple more players – perhaps a centre-back and striker – Smith would be content if the Frenchman decided to end his transfer dealings this month.

Smith, who made well over 300 appearances for the Gunners during an eight year stay, believes the return of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck from injury will mean Arsenal have a big enough squad to continue their Premier League title challenge:

‘Danny Welbeck is apparently only three weeks away and that will help them if he comes back in the kind of form he is capable of.

‘Any manager would love to get in a world-class player to give the dressing room a lift, but it’s so difficult and I don’t think it’s going to happen.

‘I think they’ve got enough. They didn’t have Ozil or Sanchez at Stoke and they were able to cope with that, and they’re due back soon so they’re not far off full strength.’

Smith finished off by saying Arsenal find themselves in the position there in because of their team resilience, not by adding an influential player.

Do you believe Arsenal have a good enough squad to go on and win the Premier League title, without any further additions this month?

To answer my own question, I believe we do. Like Smith said, we are to welcome back Sanchez and Ozil, and with Welbeck a couple of weeks away, I’m sure the boys can keep the momentum going until his return. In addition, Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin are due back soon as well. With all these players back in the contention and fully fit, I don’t see why we can’t go and claim are fourth Premier League title.

The signing of Petr Cech has been inspirational and his contribution has played a huge part already this season. But like Smith has alluded to, our team looks more united and are willing to fight for each other than previous seasons, and this is perhaps the key reason why we are still in the hunt for the title.

of course we need to add! we brought iwobi off the bench against Stoke? says it all. flamini looks exhausted and the new lad never got off the bench.. with the injuries we have and with theo and ox doing f all every game we are gonna blow it unless we bring some quality in.
