arsene-wengerRight, so on Wednesday night Arsenal travel to Greece to face Olympiacos in one of the most crucial Champions League encounters in Arsene Wenger’s reign.

Bayern Munich are through to the next round of the competition and travel to Dinamo Zagreb and are dead certain to pick up another three points.

As for Arsenal, they know they have a job to do, and even a win against the Greek champions may not be enough to scrape through to the Last 16 round, while Olympiacos only have to avoid defeat to do so.

So let’s make it clear what we have to do in order to progress to the knockout stage.

A 1-0 win will NOT be enough for Arsenal, neither will a 2-1 victory. But a 2-0, 3-1, 4-2 (basically 2 goals or more) win for the Gunners would see them reach the knockout stages of the completion. Despite losing at the Emirates 3-2 to Olympiacos earlier in the campaign, If Arsenal manage to win by this score-line then they will sneak through, by virtue of goal difference.

So that’s it, that’s what Arsenal have to accomplish if they want to continue their journey in the Champions League. Let’s hope they can do it…we don’t want to be watching them on Thursday nights do we?
