gabrielHere are my Arsenal player ratings from tonight’s 2-0 home win over Bournemouth (feel free to agree or disagree with me):

Petr Cech – An assured performance from the now record holder for the most clean-sheets in the Premier League (170). 7/10

Hector Bellerin – Started off a little rusty, making minor errors position wise and his crossing ability lacked. Picked his game up in the second-half and made sum exciting runs forward but seems to need a rest. 6/10

Per Mertesacker – A much better performance from the German centre-back than a couple of days ago against Southampton. Missed a header from two yards out which was pretty embarrassing. 6/10

Gabriel – Won pretty much every attacking header from a cross, put some great challenges in and also headed in Arsenal’s opener. Man of the Match. 9/10

Kieran Gibbs – The England full-back was given a rare run-out and did ok. Pace down the left flank was noticeable and always got forward when the time was right. 6/10

Callum Chambers – Although the youngster got booked, he had a solid game in the heart of the midfield. Kept things neat and tidy, and was effective in the anchorman position. 7/10

Aaron Ramsey – Took a knock early on which he suffered from but kept going and attempted to make things happen going forward. 6/10

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – Was lively throughout but his final ball was lacking. Tried to hard to make things happen. 6.5/10

Mesut Ozil – Another assist and stroked home Arsenal’s second having performed a lovely one-two with Giroud. 8.5/10

Theo Walcott – Had several good chances to get on the scoresheet but to no avail this time round. 6/10

Olivier Giroud – Was hardly seen in the first 45 but provided an assist for Ozil’s goal. 6/10

SUBS:

Joel Campbell – Replaced Giroud with 10 minutes to go. N/A

Alex Iwobi – Came on late in injury time for Chamberlain. N/A

Walcott was poor, very poor, should be surplus to requirements.

  • Mick M says:

I like Gabriel and he played well but to give him more than Mesut .. Are you insane?

  • Nicky says:

Although he had an assist, Giroud perfomance was awfull, zero work rate should have been substituted in first half

  • Henry Root says:

Ozil was head and shoulders above anyone on .the pitch. Gabriel was super but Ozil deserves a 10 ( or 10.5????????)

  • trugun says:

The BFG could do nothing with such a fast rebound off the post, really unfair criticism of the fella.
Ramsey now there is someone who consistently displays sloppy passing, last night was no different , how does he get away with it?
