charly musondaArsenal are set to rekindle their interest in Chelsea starlet Charly Musonda as their injury crisis deepens ahead of the festive period.

The attacking midfielder, 19, is becoming increasingly frustrated as he sees no pathway through to the Chelsea first-team and is edging closer to the Stamford Bridge exit as a result.

Musonda is one of Chelsea’s highly-rated youngsters, with some also claiming he is ‘more talented’ than fellow Belgian’s Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard when they were the same age as him.

Despite his situation at the Bridge, the midfielder turned down the opportunity to join Dutch outfit Vitesse Arnhem on loan during the summer and is now expected to hold crunch talks with Jose Mourinho ahead of the January transfer window opening.

Manchester United and City, along with other top European clubs, are also believed to be tracking Musonda’s position.

Arsenal have a number of players out injured and Wenger is expected to bring in new recruits in January as a result.

The Belgium Under-21 international has been on Wenger’s radar in previous windows and knowing he has a depleted squad during the busy end of the season, the Frenchman may decide to finally make a move for him next month.
