Ben ChilwellArsenal will go head-to-head with Manchester United for the signing of Leicester City’s young defender Ben Chilwell, according to the Daily Star Sunday.

The 18-year-old made his full debut for Leicester City in their midweek Capital One Cup defeat to Hull City, with representatives from both Arsenal and United watching from the stands.

Despite the penalty shootout loss to Hull City, Chilwell, who was named in Leicester City’s Academy Player of the Year last season, was one of the stand out performances of the night.

The left-back’s contract at the King Power Stadium expires next summer, but Claudio Ranieri has recently praised Chilwell by saying that the youngster will be a ‘fantastic player’ for the club, suggesting the Italian wants to keep hold of him for the foreseeable future. This may prove difficult however now that Arsenal and United are showing an interest, as both clubs could offer the England Under-21 international a more competitive wage and superior training facilities to work in.
