Serge GnabryArsene Wenger has revealed that he cannot recall Serge Gnabry from West Brom to solve his mounting injury concerns.

The 20-year-old Germany Under-21 international sealed a season-long loan move to West Brom over the summer to gain first-team experience but has struggled to get into Tony Pulis’ side, with the Baggies manager recently suggesting that the young winger is not ready for Premier League football.

There were reports claiming that Gnabry may cut his loan deal short and return to the Emirates following the injuries to Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and Theo Walcott, but Wenger insisted there is not possibility of this happening:

‘He is on loan for a season and we cannot get him back before the transfer period. Loans between Premier League clubs are for one season.

‘I heard Tony Pulis is not happy with him, but he has to change that opinion.

‘I think Serge Gnabry has the quality to play in the Premier League. It is good he faces this battle as it will make him stronger, if he turns the opinion of Tony Pulis round. I hope he is facing the challenge and putting the effort in.’

But even if Wenger managed to bring Gnabry back from his loan spell to the Emirates, would the Frenchman even play him? I don’t think so.

In the past, the German winger has showcased his ability for the Gunners but his development was halted after suffering a long-term injury last season, and even if Wenger was allowed to bring him back, I doubt the Frenchman would have played him anyway. Why you ask? because he still has some other options to think about, like deploying Alexis Sanchez on the right wing for a few games and playing Kieran Gibbs, Nacho Monreal or even Mesut Ozil on the left wing.
