Edinson CavaniThe summer transfer window closed only four days ago but Arsenal are already being linked with January moves.

Apparently the Gunners are already lining up a £22 million swoop for Juventus forward Simone Zaza – having run out of time on deadline day.

And another player that Arsenal will go back in for in January is Edinson Cavani.

According to reports, PSG are willing to sell the Uruguayan striker when the window reopens, if they receive a bid in the region of £45 million.

Like Zaza, the 28-year-old was reportedly the subject of late interest from Arsenal, but a move failed to materialize.

Arsene Wenger has been widely criticised for his failure to land a top striker during the summer, so the pressure will be on the Frenchman to deliver this January.

Cavani is regarded as one of the finest strikers in Europe by many, but his difficult relationship with current PSG manager Laurent Blanc could see him finally leave the Ligue 1 champions, even though he has three-years left on his contract at the Parc de Princes.

It could prove too little too late by the time the winter window opens. Hopefully we are there or thereabouts before the turn of the New Year. If we are, then the potential addition of Cavani would be terrific, and would certainly lift everyone involved with the club.

The only way that Arsenal will make any significant signings in the January 16 window, is if our precious 4th spot is under threat!

There are quite a number of people criticising arsene wenger but I honestly believe he has done wonders for the club. He has also made club financially strong.arsené has invested heavily in youth and I honestly he will reap the rewards this is in stark contrast to what the Manchester United manager is doing why can’t the financial fair play body do something to stop this extravagant spending and develop our home talent seàn casey
