BenzemaThis Karim Benzema saga looks set to last the distance this summer.

Previous reports suggested Arsenal had bids rejected by Real Madrid for the French striker, with phone calls between the player and Arsene Wenger also being claimed, as well as a set amount of cash (supposedly £45 million+) set aside by the Gunners to finally land the 27-year-old this summer.

Several journalists have also had their say on the matter via Twitter, predicting when Benzema would arrive at the Emirates, while Arsenal legends such as Thierry Henry have endorsed the idea.

But it is now believed Real have succumbed to the pressure and have accepted an offer of £48 million for Benzema, according to Rodney Marsh.

A reliable source has told the former Sky Sports pundit that the La Liga giants have agreed to sell the France international to Arsenal after receiving a substantial offer:

‘I had a phone call from a mate of mine, and he’s been right on many things, and he said that he believes Real Madrid have accepted a bid somewhere in the region of £48million for Benzema from Arsenal.

‘In the past this guy has always been right, he’s never been wrong yet, so we’ll have to wait and see.’

This transfer rumour is really starting to get on my nerves.

If Arsenal aren’t interested in Benzema, I would rather Wenger come out and just say it, rather than have people telling us this and that.
