Gedion ZelalemRangers are on the verge of signing Gedion Zelalem on a season-long loan, according to reports in Scotland.

The 18-year-old wonderkid flew into Glasgow earlier today and immediately made his way to Rangers’ training complex to meet manager Mark Warburton over a proposed loan move to the Scottish club this summer.

Despite Zelalem wanting to stay at the Emirates and attempt to feature for Arsenal on a regular basis this season, Arsene Wenger has taken it upon himself to seek out and seal a loan deal for the Under-18 American.

It’s understood a number of English teams had been hoping to land the inventive midfielder but it now appears Rangers are in pole position to land the youngster.

Many will be glad to hear that Zelalem is close to sealing a loan move away from this summer, with the youngster requiring more first-team football.

However, some would suggest that a move to another English side, preferably either a Premier League or at least a Championship one, would have been more ideal for Zelalem.

This move seems to be in the pipeline – let’s see if it goes through.
