Joel CampbellJoel Campbell still remains a target for Galatasaray, with the Turkish giants hoping to seal a deal before the summer window shuts for another year.

Turkish newspaper Vatan Gazete claims Galatasaray are preparing to make a late move for Campbell by offering the Gunners £5.1 million for the Costa Rican forward’s services.

Gala are bracing themselves for the departure of Burak Yilmaz this week, with the Turkish striker reportedly close to signing for West Ham, and want to bring in Campbell as a replacement.

Despite Arsene Wenger rating the 23-year-old highly, it is believed that the Frenchman is open to his exit, either on a loan or a permanent transfer this summer.

Campbell signed for Arsenal from Deportivo Saprissa in 2011 and has spent most of his time out on loan with the likes of Lorient, Real Betis, Olympiacos and Villarreal last season, having not been able to cement a role at the Emirates.

Should the move go through then it would be the second Arsenal striker to make the move to Galatasaray, after Lukas Podolski also joined the Turkish giants from Arsenal earlier in the summer.

Even though Campbell has potential, he’s not going to make it at Arsenal and should be offloaded.
