An option for Arsenal to consider?

Aymen AbdennourThere has been a lot of talk about bringing in a new striker following our shock 2-0 home defeat to West Ham last Sunday, but it also confirmed to some that our defence remains our frailty.

Karim Benzema would certainly improve our attack but perhaps Arsene Wenger should consider a move for a new centre-back – someone to come in and challenge the Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker partnership. And a potential candidate could be Monaco’s Aymen Abdennour, with his agent saying the defender wants to leave the Ligue 1 club this summer.

Despite not falling out with anyone at Monaco, the 26-year-old Tunisian has already expressed his desire to leave the French club.

And although a move to Serie A would be his priority – with Juventus reportedly interested – his agent has confirmed a switch to the Premier League could also be in the offing:

‘There are no problems with [manager Leandro] Jardim or the club.’

‘But the truth is that Abdennour wants to leave. He wants a new adventure, and there are opportunities in Spain, Italy and England.

‘The priority would be Serie A, he would like that a lot.

‘There’s been some contact, with Milan for example [who couldn’t sign him until 2016, due to rules on non-EU players], and Roma and Inter showed some interest too.

‘Juventus? No, I can’t confirm that. What’s clear is that the lad’s intention is to leave.’

Abdennour featured against the Gunners in the Champions League last season where he impressed.

Known for his strength, aerial ability and tough-tackling, Abdennour appears to want a move to an Italian side, but Arsenal should attempt to bring him to the Emirates as he would be seen as a good acquisition – one that can certainly strengthen and add depth to our squad this season.

An option for Arsenal to consider.

So Mr Wenger does not think that we need a new goal scorer.nothing changes its the same old story.Well if he would only listen to the opinion of the fans and past players he would get his wallet out and make an offer for Benzema.Giroud is good but he’s only a nearly man nowhere in the same class as the strikers from the likes of Chelsea or Man city.So come on Arsene stump up for a change????

Wenger will never allow it to happen because any idea that didn’t come through him is wasted. We better not to be telling him or the board because they don’t want spend money but they need profit.
