Lukas PodolskiLukas Podolski has officially left Arsenal to sign for Galatasaray.

The German international was being heavily linked with a move to Galaltasaray in the past week and finally joined the Turkish club yesterday after agreeing terms, with the fee worth a reported £1.8 million.

The 30-year-old spent three seasons at Arsenal after joining from Koln in a £11 million transfer in 2012.

During his spell at the Emirates, Podolski managed to net 31 goals in 82 total appearances but struggled to maintain a starting role under Arsene Wenger.

His five-month loan spell in the second half of last season with Inter Milan signalled the end of Podolski’s time at Arsenal, hence his departure to Galatasaray this summer.

Although Podolski wanted to remain at Arsenal, the forward was unprepared to sit another season on the bench, which he was more likely going to do.

However, the German was pleased to make the move to Turkish champions and spoke highly of them after putting pen to paper.

But will he be missed at the Emirates?

Has Wenger made a mistake in letting him go?

For me, although I like Podolski as a footballer, I think he time was up at Arsenal. In a way he will be missed because he was a character in the dressing room and bought experience to the squad. Having said that though, we did extremely well without him last season and proved he became surplus to requirements.

Wenger was right to let him go, but the price we sold him at was surprising. But Podolski wanted to play regular first-team football and he will receive that at Galatasaray, while Arsenal loosened the wage budget a little.

Wenger wanted him to stay but he couldnt guarantee him a starting spot. I think Mourinho (as much as i hate him) would have gotten 10 mil pounds for him.
