Should Wenger sell this high-profile Gunner?

DebuchyArsene Wenger has a right-back conundrum to solve this season, with the position up for grabs.

The Frenchman has a number of options at his disposal, but no one has made the role their own.

Despite his potential, Carl Jenkinson could be set for another season-long loan spell away from Arsenal, with West Ham and Sunderland keen on the 23-year-old, while Calum Chambers, who featured in the full-back position a few times last season, is considered a future centre-back in the making.

This leaves Hector Bellerin, who emerged from the scene last season whilst Mathieu Debuchy was out injured and made a real impression on the Emirates faithful with his displays.

As a result of Bellerin’s rise to prominence, Debuchy’s place in the side is now under threat and faith in the Frenchman seems to be fading, despite only arriving last summer from Newcastle.

Debuchy’s debut season was blighted by injury and now at 29, he is not considered a regular by many of the Arsenal fans, and possibly even Wenger.

With this in mind, should Wenger look to offload Debuchy this summer and have Bellerin and Jenkinson duke it out for a starting place? Or does the former Newcastle right-back still have a part to play for the Gunners next season?

I think it is too early to sell mathieu. We need him and his vast experience to support d young ones while we hope that he will bounce back and be injury free this time around. But capital NO to OSPINA,s exit. Up gunners.

  • the fourjustmen says:

    We still want ospina’s stay

Let Jenkins have one more season out there keep debu and ballerin

  • oyamo says:

let’s keep debuchy and let carl go on loan for another season, and let him leave next season so as we remain with 2 youngstarz carl $ belerin.

  • Nigel says:

Debuchy is a top right back! If not for his injury he would be the starter. Got to keep him, experienced and quality. Jenko COULD be a decent player yet but that is yet to be seen. I wouldn’t gamble on him just yet. I very much doubt Wenger would consider letting Debuchy go!

  • Scott says:

Keep Bellerin & Debuchy to fight it out for the right back position, allow Jenkinson to learn his trade & gain more experience out on loan next season. Debuchy can also fill in & cover at centre half if and when needed along with Chambers who can play at both positions.
