Should Arsenal think about selling him?

Carl JenkinsonWest Ham want to sign Carl Jenkinson, but this time on a permanent deal.

The 23-year-old is expected to sign a new deal at the Emirates before being loaned out again for the upcoming season, with West Ham and Sunderland both keen on the right-back’s services.

Jenkinson spent last season on loan at West Ham and impressed hugely for the East London club, making 31 appearances in total. And although they would be happy to sign him again on a temporary basis this summer, The Sunday Mirror claim that they will attempt to convince the Gunners to let the player move to Upton Park full-time.

Sunderland have already had a loan offer accepted by Arsenal for Jenkinson, but the England international would prefer to play for West Ham again this season, if he is not to feature in Arsene Wenger’s first-team plans.

With Mathieu Debuchy, Calum Chambers and Hector Bellerin all ahead of Jenkinson in the pecking order, it makes sense for him to seek a move away from the Emirates in order to play regularly.

However, I doubt Wenger would sanction the sale of Jenkinson as the Frenchman holds him in high regard.

I hope Arsenal don’t get rid of Jenkinson as he can become a regular for our side for years to come – he just needs to be patient.

He is 23 years old. I don’t blame him for not being patient.

Be completely honest, if you were Jenkinson getting appreciated elsewhere but told you are 4th choice at your home club 2 years running, would you seriously consider signing a new contract?
We would dearly love to sign him at West Ham but ultimately its up to the club who hold his contract. If the player decides not to sign a new contract no one could blame him and selling him quickly to get highest return would make sense if he is not going to be part of the long term picture.

Need not sell him, unless for a huge amount……

Can send him in on loan…. there is no point is wasting his future by making him sit in bench……
We could call him back in case of an emergency……..
