Karim BenzemaArsene Wenger could finally get his hands on long-term target Karim Benzema, with Rafa Benitez desperate to sign Juventus forward Fernando Llorente.

According to reports in Spain, as reported by talkSPORT.com, Benitez has asked the Real hierarchy to sanction a move for the 30-year-old as a replacement for United loanee Javier Hernandez, even though they are not very keen on the idea.

However, even if Real do not go for Llorente or manage to sign the Spaniard, Benitez wants to bring in another forward and could put Benzema’s future at the club in doubt.

Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo are not going anywhere this summer and Jese is likely to remain with the homegrown rule coming into play this season, leaving Benzema the likely one to departure.

Earlier this month, reports claimed Arsenal lodged a massive £35.5 million bid for Benzema, but nothing has come of this.

But with Wenger rumoured to be looking to sign a new forward this summer to help out Olivier Giroud, Benzema remains an option for the Frenchman.

If Benzema does become available this summer, should Arsenal try to bring him to the Emirates? One word springs to mind – yes.

You wont get many strikers with a better goals to games ratio than Benzema, he is one of the best strikers in the world. If you think he isn’t “prolific” then you are deluded and know little about football

Why should think that real Madrid will allow him to leave .Both Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo were playing together side by side at Real Madrid for a number of years and nothing new happened to make us think that Arsenal from all clubs can sign him . Some rumors are not reasonable at all . If Wenger was given 50 million pounds only for signing new players and he already spent 10 millions to sign Peter Chech then he is in a very weak position to compete with the big clubs who will be interested in signing Karim Benzema if at all he will be available.

Wenger will never sign 2 french player to slug it out for d same position. So Benz is out of it.

Benzema is good but for I think Lacazete is the best of all looking his speed and aggressiveness that forward will be sharp

^^ Lacazette!! Benzema is a good player but not what we are missing. Giroud plays that role just fine. Lacazette is the one for me, if he is available at all…

    Anyone but our carthorse Giroud

Deluded gooners! Watch next season Sanchez become top goal scorer with giroud second and a mix of goals from santi, Ramsey, wilshere! Yes who is showing signs of being the best English talent since….ever! With the most assists in the league from ozil Ramsey wilshire, plus an extra 5at least from an ever improving ox!! With gnarly in his shadow!!pter will do for me????

  • Scott says:

Lacazette would be a good choice but Giroud holding onto, laying off or flicking onto a fit Walcott sounds good to me? How about signing a young up & coming English centre forward like Charlie Austin who could learn his trade at a quality world class Arsenal team?
