Serge GnabryWest Brom are interested in signing Serge Gnabry on loan, according to the Sunday People.

The German winger turns 20 in Tuesday and Arsene Wenger is eager to send him out on loan for the season to gain first-team experience.

Gnabry made his debut for the club aged 16, but it wasn’t until the 2013/14 season that he made an impact at the Emirates, earning rave reviews from the Arsenal faithful and media alike. He only featured 16 times in all competitions that term but so impressive were his performances that season that Dortmund were keen to sign him in January.

However, Gnabry missed the majority of last season due to a long-term injury and with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Danny Welbeck, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott all ahead of him in the pecking order, the German is being tipped to make a season-long loan move away from the Emirates this summer to gain match sharpness and experience.

The Baggies are expected to approach Arsenal over a possible loan move for Gnabry in the upcoming weeks, and Wenger would prefer the dynamic teenager to join a Premier League outfit rather than one abroad.

Gnabry would more than likely feature regularly for The Baggies should he and the Gunners accept their loan offer.

Why not, like him or loathe him Pulis is a top manager

  • Jim says:

loathe him and he’s a top defensive manager and would do nothing for Serge.

I think Pulis would be good for the kid.

Do nothing for Serge? it might be relevant that since Pulis has been at Albion, Berahino seems to have changed his mind about leaving….?

Gnabry needs to play and it is difficult to imagine him ousting Walcott, Welbeck, Alexis, Chamberlain, or, if the Cazorla in the CM role continues, Ramsey from the side. He will struggle to make the bench, not because he lacks quality, but because there are too many excellent players with more experience ahead of him.

Is West Brom the right place? Hard to know, isn’t it? Jenkinson flourished at West Ham despite Big Sam’s reputation as a Route 1 style manager, while Podolski languished at Milan with Manciini who is reputed to favor movement and style.

I wouldnt mind him at West Brom, he would be used a lot as a winger, because Pulis first gets his defence solid, then he looks for two tricky wingers to feed a strong centre forward partnering a classy player like berahino. The only thing I dont like is loan players….I would rather have a signing at the club and we could be in a position soon to spend more with the takeover looking likely…richest bloke in China apparently…we will wait and see. We turned over Man utd twice last season home and away and away the season before and all those times playing really good football…and 3-0 against Chelsea isnt a defensive result . In fact we reduced Man utd to playing sideways for most of the match away at theirs last season. We lost heavily to you boys though 😉
